Captioning Made Simple

Real-Time Remote Captioning

Available in any environment that has an internet connection. AMAC captionists listen to live events or classes remotely, interpret the spoken information, and provide real-time text. Users appreciate the independence and self-reliance that Real-Time Remote Captioning provides them - no more entourage following them to class or meeting.

Asynchronous Text Interpreting

A convenient AMAC-exclusive solution to accommodate students in distance education courses. Asynchronous text interpreting takes a live event such as a lecture, interprets it, and makes it available afterward, giving students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing the flexibility of viewing audio components of a course anytime, not just at the same time that the teacher presents, just like all other students.

Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART)

Provided remotely when access to every single word is necessary. CART is a verbatim account of everything that is spoken, most effective for providing access to late-deafened adults who are accustomed to hearing all the elements of spoken language.

Transcription Services

Provides access to recorded audio content when the full dialogue needs to be made accessible but captioning is not available. Transcription services are best for use in providing access to audio-only products such as a podcast that has no video.

Video Captioning

As part of the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010, it is required that an organization's videos, presentations and movies with audio be captioned for access by those with hearing loss. AMAC provides video captioning for most media platforms. You simply provide AMAC with the video, and we return the captioned product back in the format most useful to you.

AMAC Accessible Media Plan

If your school or business has never provided audio accommodations, but is ready to do so, AMAC can help you get started. At no charge for AMAC Members, we'll help you create an implementation plan, starting with the most important and common media, such as the media available to all persons on your website.
